The problem

Every parent knows it. You remember the bottle and forget the pacifier, or the pacifier falls on the floor, ends up at the bottom of the diaper bag, or disappears completely. Pacifiers get lost far more often than bottles.

Carlos had his idea when he saw his daughter's pacifier sitting on an end table, collecting dust while she drank her milk. As he put it on TV: "My baby's pacifier was in contact with an unsanitized surface." He wanted a way to keep the pacifier clean and always with the bottle.

The idea

A baby bottle with a compartment in the base that holds the pacifier. You unscrew the bottom, put the pacifier inside, and it stays protected and travels with the bottle. Bottle and pacifier together, always.

What One Stop Inventing did

We handled Pacibaba from start to finish: engineering, product development, prototyping and manufacturing, taking it from an idea to a product ready to sell. A baby bottle is a demanding product to develop:

  • Food-grade, baby-safe materials. Everything that touches milk or a baby's mouth has to be made from food-grade, BPA-free materials.
  • A leak-proof seal. The compartment has to open easily for a parent but stay sealed when the bottle is full, shaken in a bag or dropped.
  • Easy cleaning. Parents wash bottles several times a day, so every part had to come apart easily and clean well.
  • Compatibility. The compartment had to fit most standard pacifiers, not one specific brand.
  • Unit cost. Pacibaba sells for under $12, so the design had to be manufacturable at a cost that leaves room for a real margin.

The result

  • Sold at pacibaba.com, in blue and pink.
  • Patent protected. Carlos holds a patent on the design.
  • On TV. Carlos pitched Pacibaba on Project Pitch It, Season 9, on WISN-TV 12 in Milwaukee and its statewide affiliates (March 2025). The episode earned Pacibaba the show's $5,000 award.

What other inventors can learn from Pacibaba

  1. The best ideas solve a problem you've lived. Carlos didn't invent for a market report; he invented for his own daughter.
  2. Simple doesn't mean easy. A bottle with a compartment sounds simple. Making it food-safe, leak-proof, easy to clean and cheap to produce is engineering.
  3. A real product opens doors. A finished, manufactured product is what gets you on TV, in front of investors and onto store shelves.
